Peaceful Circular Hike near Gloggnitz
This varied circular hike starts in Gloggnitz and leads through forested trails up to the Silbersberg. The route then continues to the Schmelzgrube viewpoint before returning back to Gloggnitz.
The tour is especially suitable for a short half-day hike or as a relaxed training route with moderate elevation gain. Thanks to the large amount of forest along the trail, the hike remains pleasant even on warmer days.
Ascent to the Silbersberg
The ascent begins directly in Gloggnitz and initially follows wide forest roads and quiet woodland trails steadily uphill. Most of the route runs through shaded mixed forest and occasionally offers small views of the surrounding hills in southern Lower Austria.

The area offers pleasant hiking conditions especially during spring and autumn. Due to the large forest sections, the trail usually remains comfortably shaded even in summer. After rainfall, some sections may become slightly slippery.
